Virtual Coach Reaches Out “To Me“
The “V2me“ (Virtual Coach Reaches Out “To Me”) project connects the actual world of older citizens with elements of virtual social networks to prevent and overcome isolation in Europe’s ageing societies.
The overriding objective is to promote the vitality of the network members and enable their better integration in society. To achieve this, “V2me“ supports “active aging” by making available social network services and activities. The flexible, assisting solution offered by “V2me“ helps prevent isolation and places special emphasis on acceptance by older end users.
In this project, the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft is represented by both the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research IGD (Darmstadt) and the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS (Erlangen).
The project seeks to achieve a widespread acceptance of the created systems among the designated target group. It is supported in this aim by a broad consortium with experience in numerous AAL projects.
One focus is the testing of the systems created by four test groups based in, respectively, the Netherlands, Norway, Finland, and Germany. The results of these studies are incorporated in the final system, with the objective of providing an innovative, easily learnable product and thereby sustainably improving the users’ quality of life.
